Do you hold yourself back with your acting career because you’re afraid of being wrong or that you’ll make yourself look like an amateur?

That’s a common condition for a lot of actors, in my experience. Even ones who are “established”. But why do we do that? Hold back and don’t try to get an agent or better agent? Stay stuck in our 9 to 5 getting more hopeless by the day? Go weeks or even months without letting those wild horses of our acting drive out to tear up the fields?

How does an ice climber feel a the bottom of a frozen waterfall? Daunted, perhaps? Maybe, but once they clamp on those crampons, they know they’re going to have added traction to get to the top. Steel-toothed feet, how could that not give you confidence?
